Green Art Incubator, together with partner organizations from Hungary, Bulgaria, and North Macedonia, is organizing the final conference of the RE-IMAGINE project. The Re-Imagine Closing Conference: Knowledge, Impact, Future will take place online on 18–19 September 2025 via Zoom.
Over the course of two days, the conference will bring together artists, cultural workers, researchers, and policymakers from across Europe and beyond. It will present the results of the Re-Imagine Green Art Practices on the Margin project, introduce tools for ecological transformation in the performing arts, and open dialogue on future directions for sustainability in culture.
The first day will feature a keynote by climatologist and Green Art Incubator co-founder Vladimir Đurđević on the climate crisis and its cultural implications, the presentation of the Re-Imagine Toolkit for sustainable production, an interactive session on artistic freedom and green art (Philipp Thapa), as well as a discussion on sustainable practices from the margins. The day will close with an evening session by visual artist and researcher Miguel Sbastida, who will present his long-term work on ecological art practices, connecting art and science through projects on coral reef restoration.
The second day will open with a keynote by cultural researcher and manager Vânia Rodrigues, who will share insights into how cultural institutions can take on ecological responsibility and what eco-ethical management models this entails. This will be followed by a policy session with Creative Europe Desk representatives from project partner countries, exploring how European policies can support the green transition in the performing arts and offering local perspectives and case studies. The day continues with a conversation with artists and producers on supporting sustainable production and concludes with a participatory session involving all project participants, partners, and the audience, opening space to imagine future visions of sustainability in the performing arts.
The conference is an opportunity to connect diverse perspectives, exchange practices, and collectively envision pathways toward greener, fairer, and more resilient cultural practices.
