Towards Green Museums and Galleries Seminar Held

Through various segments of the event, participants were introduced to the elementary characteristics of the climate crisis and the different possibilities for museums and galleries to adapt to green transition processes.

Following the introductory presentation by Dr. Vladimir Đurđević on the importance and impact of climate change on nature and society, as well as the possible contributions of the cultural field in this context, there was a keynote speech by Dr. Zoran Erić, an art historian, curator, and lecturer.

In addition to reviewing various experiences in applying green approaches (tools, guidelines, best practices), the seminar included an interactive concept working with participants to jointly shape the next steps in the context of green transformation.

The seminar was attended by curators, administration representatives, and other collaborators involved in various segments of the work of museums and galleries.

The event also presented the results of a study on the practices and potential of museums and galleries in the context of their green transformation, conducted by the Green Art Incubator in April 2022, which included 15 institutions from Belgrade.

The realization of the event was supported by the Open Society Foundation.
