Imagine Green Filming: Two-Day Industry Program Focused on Greening the Film Industry

As part of the Austrian Film Festival, the Austrian Cultural Forum, in collaboration with partner organizations Green Art Incubator and Media Desk Serbia, successfully organized a two-day industry program titled Imagine Green Filming. The program focused on exploring the green transformation of the film industry, one of the sectors with the greatest negative environmental impact within the context of culture and creative industries.

On the first day of the program, Thursday, April 25th, before the festival’s opening, a panel discussion titled Challenges and Practices – Green Transformation in the Film Industry was held. The panel brought together representatives from the Austrian Film Commission, Austrian Film Institute, Film Center Serbia, and Media Desk, engaging in a dialogue about different approaches to the green transformation of the film industry, as well as the challenges and potentials of their implementation from a public policy perspective.

The second day, April 26th, was reserved for an industry session titled Introduction to New Profession: Green Consultant in the Film Industry, during which participants had the opportunity to learn about the new profession of green consultants in the film industry and their role in the context of production processes. The session was led by experts in this field, representatives from the Austrian Film Commission and Austrian Film Institute, Linn (Dietlind) Rott and Nina Hauser, who are involved in the Evergreen Prisma initiative dedicated to ecologically sustainable approaches in film production.

The program took place at the Cultural Center of Belgrade and gathered a significant number of professionals in the field, students, and film enthusiasts.
