GAI Workshop Held During European Green Week: Re-shaping Art Skills for a Sustainable Future

As part of the European Green Week in Serbia, the Green Art Incubator organized an interactive workshop titled Re-shaping Art Skills for a Sustainable Future, aimed at students and young professionals in the fields of arts and culture, creative industries, and events management.

Participants had an opportunity to get acquainted with the current situation regarding climate change and the ecological crisis, the basic principles of sustainability in line with EU values, and to acquire knowledge and skills in the field of green artistic production.

The event program included an introductory lecture on the climate crisis and potential contributions of the cultural sector to its mitigation, titled Climate Crisis and How to Overcome It, a lecture titled Green Transformation in Culture – How and Why? which introduced participants to the position of culture as a powerful place for reflecting on the climate crisis, a review of successful practices of eco-sustainable artistic production at the local, regional, and international levels, and an interactive segment – a case study on creating a project sustainability plan.

The workshop was held as part of the European Green Week and was supported by the Ministry of Culture and the EU Delegation in Serbia, and implemented in collaboration with the Faculty of Dramatic Arts in Belgrade.
